Learn AVT is Shefali Shah’s online training initiative in Auditory-Verbal Therapy, to support professionals globally, in their work with infants and young children with hearing loss. Shefali is committed to spreading and developing the knowledge and skills of Auditory-Verbal Therapy, so that professionals from across the world can access high quality training at an affordable cost.
Shefali is an LSLS Cert. AVT professional and is the instructor at Learn AVT. She will coach participating professionals herself and supervise their practicum.
Shefali has been mentored by Warren Estabrooks and lives in London and practices there and in India. Warren Estabrooks continues to be Shefali’s professional guide.
As India’s first practicing LSLS Cert. AVT professional, Shefali pioneered training in Auditory-Verbal Therapy for professionals in India. Shefali shares her work in early intervention for children with hearing loss through this 61- part video series. She draws upon her training in Australia, Canada and the Netherlands, and her training and work experience at the Smith College – Clarke School for the Deaf programme in the USA.
Shefali’s vision is to make training in Auditory-Verbal Therapy accessible so that families from across the world, with children with hearing loss can avail of specialised guidance to raise their child to listen and talk like other children the same age. At Learn AVT, professionals can now fulfil their Listening and Spoken Language (LSLS) credits with self-paced online learning.
